Assured Faith (A Miniseries on Hebrews 11)

I (Pastor David) have been praying a lot about what God might have in store for First Hopkinton SDB Church and what words He would have me share to encourage our people. Honestly, I’m not sure I have that one quite answered yet, but one of the things that I believe God absolutely wants us to know is how much He loves us, and He wants to encourage our faith. As I was praying about how to begin engaging our congregation, God let me to the pages of Hebrews 11.

This passage is somewhat familiar, but because of its depth, it offers us so much every time we read it– whether for the first time or the thousandth time. In its words, we encounter encouraging truths that range from life to death and cover a myriad of experiences in between. These words can encourage all of us in our faith, whether we have been long in our walking with God, or if we are relatively new to begin following Jesus.

Hebrews 11:1 tells us, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” As we remember that our faith comes from Christ, we can be assured that He who started working in us will continue working both in us and through us (see Philippians 1:3-11 for some more encouragement!). We Christians have assured faith!

Join us in person Saturday mornings at 11:00am, and catch up on the full series on our livestream page!
